Looking 10 years younger

When my grandma came to Thanksgiving dinner this year, she honestly looked twenty years younger. She told us that she had a mini face lift, and she is seventy two years old! I was so confused because Grandma always used to say that face lifts were the tools of the less fortunate, and just I had no idea that someone so old would worry about their appearance.

I mean my sorority sisters and I talk about nose jobs or maybe having their ears pulled back but it never occurred to me that my grandmother would ever not just feel as beautiful as she has always been to me. When we finally had a moment alone to talk I was able to ask her “why?” She explained to me that after her heart transplant two years earlier, that she began to feel so alive and energized, and she wanted to look that way on the outside as well. Now I understand that the surgery lifts more than the sagging skin on your neck or the wrinkles on you face, it also lifts your spirit and your self-image.

So now my 72 year old grandmother doesn’t look a day over 50 as she out walks, my beautiful mother on our monthly girl’s day out at the mall.

With my new outlook on face lift surgery I decided to do a little research of the benefits, drawbacks, and variety of procedures. To my shock and amazement, there is a cosmetic procedure to address every physical defect from Liposuction to eliminate belly fat, to MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) face lifts to eliminate sagging skin. It occurs to me that one never has to look as old as they actually are, and maybe here lies the fountain of youth!

A lot of dentists in Essex have patients who aren’t happy with their smiles, but who never think about the dentist until it’s time for a check up or they have toothache.

But smiling is very important, both socially and to our own happiness and wellbeing, and cosmetic dentistry may well be able to solve those concerns so many of us have.  As a result, smile makeovers are becoming ever more popular.

What happens in one person’s smile makeover dental job may be completely different to another’s, it all comes down to what you want your smile to look like and what needs to be done to get you to that point.

For problems with crookedness, consider the wide array of orthodontic treatments such as braces or even veneers, although veneers do mean reshaping the teeth even if they are a faster option than orthodontic methods.

Damage in the form of broken or chipped teeth can be fixed using composite bonding, veneers or crowns, dependant on the amount of damage.

Gaps can be treated much as crookedness, with the same range of options.

Gum contouring is the perfect answer to a gummy smile, quick and painless.

Whitening or cleaning can give you brighter, whiter teeth which you are happier to show to people, and remove the need for tooth extraction.

You may also want to consider things like Botox if your worries include frown or smile lines which make you hesitate about smiling too much.

There is a wide array of dental treatment options available, but it is still down to you to care for your teeth with toothpaste and the other essentials, so take a trip down to the dentist and find out what your smile makeover could do to help you.

An implant for everyone!

Choosing the right implant for breast enlargement cosmetic surgery is as important as choosing the correct size for your body type. There are two different types of implant surfaces; smooth or textured. Textured implants do not move around in the breast. They stay where they are put. Smooth implants tend to slide around somewhat. Scarring is a huge complication for implants, and textured implants have been found to cause less scarring. But textured implants have a greater risk of rupturing. Tissue can grow into the textured surface over the years and this could be a weakening of the implants surface. However, smooth surface implants offer a less chance of wrinkles.
Breast implants come in two shapes: round or shaped. Most plastic surgeons prefer round implants because there is less chance of error. Since they are shaped like a circle the surgeon doesn’t need to worry about getting them oriented correctly. Shaped implants can look great on the operating table, but if they haven’t been placed properly, after the swelling goes down they could have a peculiar outline. Shaped implants have less of a natural look since they hold their volume at the body. Rounded implants more naturally conform to the body. Shaped implants also cost more.
There is also an implant called the Spectrum implant. It is for the woman who is unsure what size she wants to be. This implant can be adjusted up to 6 months after surgery. The adjustments are made by using a small valve that is inserted under the skin. Although the valve is good for adding more volume to the implant, it can be felt and also leak. The spectrum implant is also more expensive than the average breast enlargement implant.
Whatever implant you decide to use, make sure you pick the one that best suits your body type.
